What is MALICE420.COM ? MALICE420 is a metal band, born in San Diego in 2001. Click on the band link and read the rest. During the bands development we knocked on door after door looking for a break while playing gig after gig. After a 150 shows from San Diego and La we got tired of hearing MALICE420 ? Who are they? We passed out our cd "Hateful Preachings" and still few knew who we were. You could count the web visits on your hand.
After countless cd mailings developed our own promotional plan. We saved some bucks to do a test release of our first cd bypassing bypassing the record companies. We self released our cd in November 2002 out of London, England. For nine weeks we banged the Britt's and surrounding countries with real American heavy metal music. Web visits soared by 750,000 four weeks out. Internet sales of cd's, gear and DVD began clicking away in the store. We supplemented our radio spins with web banners on the station websites and made enough disposable cash to run 150 annoying radio ads advertising our show for the next seven weeks.
In April, 2003 we decided to release our first cd in the USA.
We released our cd nationally for nine weeks. Our website burned up by 2 million visits . By the time we finished our radio run our music was used as background on a Metallica DVD, two TV commercials, and in the running for a horror feature film from EMI / ORPHEUS. We got paid gigs, print media, features, contacts, radio interviews because people from around the country heard the music on the radio long before we arrived in their neighborhoods. We continue to get on play list after play list and stay in regular rotation, People hear our music every day from New York to San Francisco.
